Description:
Built by Lima in October of 1941, PM 2-8-4 #1219 (serial #7833, class N-1) sits in the Proviso, IL, scrap line with its number and name lined out. The Lima records show it was scrapped in May of 1956, but the photo is dated June 2, 1956. Either date, it met up with the scrapper's torch. Final specs - 70" drivers,, impressive 245 psi boiler pressure, 26x34" cylinders, engine weight of 445,500 lb, tractive effort of 69,350 lb, with booster adding 14,400 lb. No photographer was given for the photo.
