PRR 8627, AS-18M, 1964
Title:  PRR 8627, AS-18M, 1964
Description:  Holly. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train at HOLLY Block in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 08 August 1964. Shown here is PRR engine #8627, an AS-18M built by the American Locomotive Company in 1957 and rated at 1,800 horsepower. It is pulling a 24-car mixed-cargo freight train on the Bedford Secondary Track. The train has stopped for the moment, and the fireman is calling WYE Tower to secure permission to pass through HOLLY Block on its way to the Altoona Yards. The caboose is number 477746.
