Built by Baldwin as an Vauclain compound 2-6-2 in April of 1902, ATSF #1079 was simplified in a rebuilt at the Topeka KS shops in 1914. Upon retirement in 1955, it was doated ot the Coffeyville, KS city for display. As of 2022, it was still there! Rebuilt specs - 69" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x28" cylinders, engine wt of 235,200 lb and tractive effort of 38,150 lb. This is a Jim Lockart slide.
