Built by Alco-Schenectady in June of 1929, this unique 4-12-2 wheel arrangement was only used by Union Pacific who needed freight service speed on flat runs, something that this loco could meet. The loco served the UP for nearly 26 years before being retired in June of 1955. Specs - 67" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, one 27x31" cylinders and two 27x32" cylinders, engine wt of 496,500 lb, impressive tractive effort of 96,650 lb.
