BO 0-8-8-0 #7035 - Baltimore & Ohio
Although the 0-8-8-0 pusher locos on the B&O roster proved "slow and complicated", they were nevertheless powerful brutes who helped move long drags of coal from the mines. B&O 0-8-8-0 #7035 was built by Alco-Schenectady in January of 1912 as BO #2416 but was renumbered BO #7035 and reclassed as LL-1. Unlike several other sister locos who were upgraded to a 2-8-8-0 EL-4 class, #7035 remained unchanged until meeting the scrapper's torch in October of 1949 after nearly 37 years of service. Original specs - class, O-1, 56' drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, compound high pressure cylinders of 26x41" and low pressure cylinders of 32x56", engine weight of 461,000 lb, tractive force of 107,400 lb. No photographer was listed for the photo.
