Here is a photo by T. Martin Flattley, Jr., that was taken near Sunbury, Pennsylvania, on 2 April 1938. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6745, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during July of 1930 and retired in November of 1951 after 21 years of faithful service. In this context, the Fireman's inspecting the ash pan while the Head-End Brakeman's standing guard up by the "doghouse." Their names are not recorded. Gary Mittner Collection. |
