Four years before its retirement, 4004 trundles through the yard in Laramie. The engineer is dwarfed by the size of his articulated behemoth, which has just recieved a new load of coal and water. 4004 would become the oldest Big Boy to be preserved in June, 1963, when it was donated to the city of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
