H. L. Goldsmith found this powerful locomotive stored in the scrap line at Turcot Yard in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in May of 1929 (serial #67782), it was one of the hundreds of 4-8-4 Confederations (CN's label for a Northern) that roared across the Canadian land. It sat in the scrap line until it was rescued from the scrapper's torch when it was sent to the Canadian Railway Museum in Delson/Saint-Constant, Quebec, Canada. |
