Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at Safe Harbor, Pennsylvania, in the Summer of 1950. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3884, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1923 and retired in May of 1956 after 33 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a railfan excursion that's sponsored by the Midwest Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society. |
