A CN through freight approaches Harrison St. as it heads south via former SOO rails at Town of Oshkosh, Winnebago Co., WI on 30 Apr. '18. Train had three locomotives, BCOL 4624, GECX 9129- CN 5774. The former C&NW right-of-way runs parallel on this side of the tree line at right. The CN main line transitions from the former SOO to the former C&NW right-of-way at Harrison St. I was standing on Harrison St., in the City of Oshkosh, but the train is traversing an isolated, pitiful scrap of the Town of Oshkosh. The locomotives are passing a turnout fou what is now just a spur for a solitary active rail customer. Not too long ago there were numerous rail customers along that stretch of rail. That track once formed the northern leg of a gigantic loop around the borthern half of Oshkosh. I intended to capture a better view of the turnout and spur, but my timing was a little off, obviously. |
