Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad dome coach 4736, named SILVER BRAND, date and location unknown, print stamped "Lawrence S. Williams Photographer Upper Darby, PA. Neg # 2607", Chuck Zeiler collection. I'm guessing this was shot at Budd's Red Lion Plant in 1956. Number 4736 was ordered for the Denver Zephyr in February 1955, delivered in August 1956, built on Job 9646-169 for two 46-seat dome coaches; 4735 SILVER BUCKLE and 4736 SILVER BRAND. Both cars were conveyed to Amtrak in 1971, CB&Q 4735 became Amtrak 9457, CB&Q 4736 became Amtrak 9458. It doesn't appear that either car was converted by Amtrak to HEP, and both were retired by Amtrak in March 1993. |
