| Here is a photo from a reprint of the November 1956 issue of "Modern Railroads" magazine, page 20. Photo Caption: "Steam power is now used only in certain 'pockets' and then only when traffic is high." Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6797, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A during 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in December of 1947, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service. The exact location is not recorded. |
