PRR 9611, AF-16, 1956         
Sweetland. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by David R. Sweetland that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, on 25 August 1956. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #9611, #9608-B, and #9619. All are AF-16's built by the American Locomotive Company in May of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower each, and retired in July of 1966 after just 15 years of revenue service. Partially visible at the left are a GG-1 and two modified P-5A electric locomotives.
