Tipton. Here is an original photo that I took in Tipton, Pennsylvania, on 12 July 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2515, #2411, and #2249. #2515 is a GF-25 built by General Electric in October of 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2411 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in October of 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. And #2249 is an EF-22 built by GM-EMD in May of 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower. They're pulling a 106-car westbound iron-ore train along with N-8 cabin car #478216. |
