ALCO Century 636-1 Demonstrator  Contributor's Pick!
Only 3 demonstrators were built for the Century 636 model, this being the first one. From several sources, the test runs by several railroads were unsatisfactory and led to only 34 being built. Looks like it is sitting in front of PC H10-44 #8207 in this unknown yard. Photo by Lee Hartman

Alan Fricker General Interesting mystery-the PC had begun concentrating the FMs in the Chicago area by this time, and that is an ex-NYC FM becasue of the frame stripe. The way the tracks are in the photo appears to show that they are coming off of a turntable; that looks like the edge of a roundhouse on the far right. 6/13/2014 8:51:07 AM
Fred Stuckmann General Too cool. 6/13/2014 9:41:03 AM
