| This was the highlight of my 3 days watching JR trains...This EF 64, #37, is an early production version built between 1965 and {likely} 1970. This loco was painted brown in 2003 to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the opening of JR's Chuo Mainline [Central Main] between Kofu and Enzan. It is now part of the 'preserved' fleet and used for charter and engineering runs. In this photo I have lightened the brown some in order to bring out the details on the cab end. |
