Here is page nine of a 12-page camera study entitled "Horseshoe Curve Pictorial." It was published originally in the Winter 2004 issue of "The Keystone" magazine, page 40. Middle Photo, Partial Caption: "New York-to-Pittsburgh Aerotrain, in the summer of 1956." PRR's "Aerotrain" was built by General Motors during July of 1955, but lasted only a year or so before being withdrawn from service. Bottom Photo, Partial Caption: "Centipede #5834 assisting a westbound freight up Horseshoe Curve, circa 1956." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5834 was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as a BP-60 rated at 3,000 horsepower in February of 1948, was later regeared and reclassified as 2,500 horsepower BH-50, and retired in April of 1962.
