Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1916, this 2-8-2 Mikado was an ATSF class 3129. It had smaller 58" drivers than other later models, developed 200 psi boiler pressure, and generated a respectable 58,621 lb of tractive effort. More used in freight service on this day it was heading up a fairly long passenger train. The class was scrapped between 1948-54. Date is approximate |
