Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5456, an AS-16M road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8456" in June of 1952, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and renumbered "5456" in preparation for the PRR-NYC merger. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-34). |
