Description:
Peoria & Eastern (Penn Central) GP7 5624 sits at the small PC terminal at Hillsboro IL in November 1974. 5624 was one of two the P&E had with steam generators for passenger service. It would be rebuilt by Paducah into a GP10 as CR 5410 in 1978.

P&E 5624 at Hillsboro: Front End
Description:
Peoria & Eastern 5624 sits at the Penn Central Hillsboro IL terminal on a gray November day in 1974. NYC subsidiary P&E had 15 GP7s, all numbered within its parent's system and delivered in the NYC "Lightning Stripe" scheme. By the mid-1970s most were in overall black with a P&E herald on the cab and PC logos on the ends. Several, including 5624 here, received Penn Central markings on the hood as well.
