Here is a good example of a 1918-19 Alco built USRA "heavy" Mikado, orginally #8611. Specs - 63" drivers, 27" x 32" cylinders, a 190 psi boiler pressure and 59,800 lb of tractive effort, engine weight of 325,000 lb. The class was scapped between 1938-56. Max Miller photo

Before a diesel wore the number "327", this 1918-19 Alco built USRA "heavy" Mikado had it, although its original number was #8627. Description:
Built by Baldwin between 1920-21, this type of Mikado served the railroad very well, most lasting into the mid-50's. Specs - originally #8206, 63" drivers, 26x30" cylinders, 200 psi boiler pressure and 54,724 lb of tractive effort, engine weight of 289,000 lb. No exact date or location was given for this photo.
